Almond Joyous

Morning at our home are really, really busy.  I'm sure I am preaching to the choir when I say this; there NEVER seems to be enough time.  We assemble lunches and set clothes out the night before, as to avoid fashion arguments (what is appropriate for school and what is not) and make sure backpacks are packed and placed at the front entrance.  And yet, we always have missing homework, misplaced keys or glasses etc.  One of our favorite on-the-go breakfasts are smoothies.  Smoothies are quick, easy and best of all transportable!  Here's a recipe for a family favorite.

Almond Joyous Smoothie

Ingredients

1 C Light Coconut Milk
1 C Skim Milk
3/4 C Fat Free Plain Yogurt
1 Tbs Powdered Cocoa
1 Banana sliced and frozen
1 tsp Coconut Extract
3/4 tsp Almond Extract
4 scoops vanilla protein powder

Directions

Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.  Add ice cubes if you wish for a more frosty like texture. 
Serves 4
